Herberger´s To Open At Northtown Mall
HERBERGER’S DEPARTMENT STORE TO OPEN AT NORTHTOWN MALL
LATEST STEP IN REVITALIZATION OF MALL
Blaine, MN. – (January 23, 2008) - Northtown Mall announced today a commitment from fashion retailer Herberger’s to join the mall in the fall of 2008. The 130,000-square-foot, two-level store featuring brand-name apparel for women, men and children along with cosmetics and accessories will be located on the site of the former Mervyn’s.
“We are excited and honored to welcome Herberger’s to Northtown Mall. Their extensive product mix and quality service will undoubtedly add a whole new level to the shopping experience at Northtown Mall,” said Paula Mueller, general manager of Northtown Mall.
Bud Bergren, President and Chief Executive Officer, The Bon-Ton Stores, Inc., Herberger’s parent company, stated, “We are pleased with the success of our Minneapolis Herberger’s locations and the redevelopment of the Northtown Mall will provide us a great opportunity to expand our presence in this market. We believe the addition of a Herberger’s in the Northtown Mall will enhance the total shopping experience for customers of the mall.”
The addition of Herberger’s is a vital step in Northtown Mall’s continuing redevelopment. New monument signs, mall entrances and interior updates were completed in 2006. A diverse group of new retailers has been added to the merchandise mix including a 102,000-square-foot Home Depot, Famous Footwear, FedEx Kinko’s, Lids, Tradehome Shoes and Four Paws and a Tail. Long-time tenant Applebee’s has completed construction of a new exterior location and L.A. Fitness will open a 43,000-square-foot health club in summer 2008. “We are dedicated to improving Northtown Mall to better serve our community and our loyal shoppers who have supported us during this important process,” added Mueller.
